8″ × 10 1/2″, pastel on Uart paper. I am fascinated by glass and the reflections in glass. This is composition is off center purposely to leave something to the imagination. This is an example of Eastern aesthetic vs Western aesthetic- of having everything front and center and explained for you.
Starry Night
5″×7″, acrylic. Some days it’s easier to paint than others. This is not one of those days but as Karen Margulies, the famous pastel artist says, the best thing she ever did was to “paint everyday”! And “consider your little paintings a warm up or a sketch for something bigger”. Well alrighty Karen! This is a sketch for something bigger 😉
‘Little Friend’
8″×10″, pastel. Painted from a photo I took at my Dad’s place in Detroit, where I’m getting ready to travel to tommorrow! So forgive the mess. But it was fun to do and painting for me is a great way to relax. I’m looking forward to taking many more photos of the squirrel colonies when I get to Detroit. First stop will be the ‘peanut store’ for treats for my favorite subjects.
