16″×20″, acrylic. New Mexico Jackrabbit. Decided not to do a whole lot more to him. Gave him some friends, toned down some brights and gave him whiskers. Hope you like him.

I spent time at Ghost Ranch today learning how to free up my landscapes which I’ve been having a lot of trouble with because I am not a realist painter! I will never paint what a camera sees so I’m going to quit trying. Had much more fun today trying my hand at representational expressionism with the talented Jane Shoenfeld who led this 2 day workshop.

Starting a new painting of a hare and I feel like he needs a friend…maybe a turtle? 16″×20″, acrylic (not finished- work in progress).

I love working here at The Inn and Spa at Loretto. It’s my opportunity to work bigger and meet lots of really nice people. I also did this little one today as well. Not sure if he’s finished so putting him aside for now.
